A Liverpool workout before ChristmasWhen asking our plumbers in Liverpool if they are ready for Christmas, the usual answer is that it couldn't have come soon enough. The holiday spirit, the presents, the food and the time off to try and take all this in is always a welcome break from the busy winter period. However, this year the annual 5K run is taking place to try and work some calories off before the massive meals of Christmas, and more importantly to raise money for charity. The organisers expect around 6,000 Santas to participate in the annual Santa Dash 2009. People of all ages and sizes dressed up as Santa have taken part in this famous run in previous years. Running through Liverpool city centre and some of the famous icons of the city, the participants are surely getting in the spirit of Christmas, while exercising and doing good for charity. Many people take refuge in the festive spirit from the harsh realities of the credit crunch and the associated redundancies and increased financial pressure on working families. The news are routinely covering plant closures and massive layoffs as companies are put against the wall with lack of financial liquidity and slowing market demand. The break that the festive period brings a respite from a pressure and ignoring the obvious stress of having one's family over for a long period, it is normally a nice and relaxing period to recharge your batteries before the new year. This page has been written with contributions from plumbers from Merseyside and heating engineers from Barnet. Several of the company's plumbing and heating engineers from Northamptonshire have worked on similar issues as well as some of our qualified plumbers from Cricklewood and our Pimlico Gas Safe engineers.
