Corgi Students: 1,000 Members

Corgi has recently marked the 1,000th member for its student membership scheme, reaching the milestone just nine months into the programme.

Ben Wright from Bradford Collage was presented with a prize to celebrate the milestone. It was presented to him by Sam Browne of Corgi and Paul Bickerdale of Parts Center (part of the Wolseley Group, which also owns Plumb Center).

Mr Wright said: “I was encouraged by my tutor to join Corgi’s Student Membership Scheme. I’m looking forward to becoming fully qualified as a Corgi registered plumber and ultimately to have my own business.”

The scheme was launched in autumn 2007 and was designed to support students in their studies towards a career in the plumbing and heating industry with a focus on gas heating.

Any student in their final year of studies for gas, heating or plumbing qualifications is eligible to join free of charge. In addition to access to the website, the students can receive technical information online, regular email updates and discounts on books and products.

Membership is still growing with around five new joiners every day, further proving that the interest in obtaining quality education in the plumbing and heating industry is high. With chronic shortage of trained and qualified corgi plumbers, the Corgi management and the industry are doing their best to encourage young talent to join in and develop their expertise in the industry.
