Centrica, owner of British Gas, estimates that the average cost of heating and electricity will top £1,000 within the next 3-4 years. Ever increasing cost of oil will push the average cost of energy from around £600 per annum to above £1,000. Carbon Monoxide Data Gathering Needs Changing, CORGI

Corgi, the UKs gas safety watchdog is calling for an introduction of a coherent system of gathering and reporting data on carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, as several reports show conflicting results on injuries and fatalities due to CO poisoning (caused from faulty boilers, faulty gas cookers etc.).The most recent report by Corgi is covering the most dangerous areas in the UK for cases of OC poisoning for the period April 1 2007 to March 31 2008. The report was compiled from media coverage during that period together with investigation data from Corgis incident investigation team. The report shows 52 incidents of CO poisoning which lead to 21 deaths and 125 injuries.However, the analysis gets more interesting when population levels are considered.
