Finding Plumbers in the UK
It is fair to say that the geographical distribution of plumbing and heating engineers in the UK is reasonably even, with naturally increased density in major metropolitan areas, such as London, the West Midlands, Merseyside etc.
Plumbers in London
The primary location for plumber in the UK is the southern capital city, London, with more than 40 engineers covering the town from within our network. Well served areas include Fulham, nearby Kensington and, next to the world famous heath, Hampstead. Similarly, the northern capital, Edinburgh, the seat of local government for Scotland, is very well served with a number of well trained and experienced engineers as is the largest city north of the border, Glasgow. Many of the daily commuters to offices in London live in the nearby Home Counties. To the east, Essex is the base for many City employees commuting into central London. Across the Thames estuary Kent (the Garden of England) is dotted with towns and villages in which professional plumbers offer their services. Further west, the affluent county of Surrey, south of the capital, is a green and affluent belt with many plumbing and heating engineers serving the local communities with their large houses. Moving towards the coast, East Sussex is home to the trendy Brighton and Hove which are located on the south coast and attract a high number of tourists. West Sussex is also increasingly densely served by plumbing and heating engineers due to the combination of older retired folk and young families enjoying coastal life style. These conditions are also true for Hampshire which runs from the coast up towards London and includes Southampton, with its port and famous football club and Guildford with its large houses and many London commuters.
Plumbers North West of London
Split into two detached geographical areas, Middlesex, is home to a wide group of suburban households with densely populated towns and industrial centres. Further west out towards Reading is the county of Berkshire with its many riverside attractions which include some world famous restaurants. Buckinghamshire, right to the north, is charming with its rural fields and quaint towns. Less rural, but still with its own unique character is the county of Hertfordshire which is part of the growing commercial centre of Watford which has grown rapidly over the last two decades as a local shopping centre. Further to the north west Oxfordshire is home to the famous university town of Oxford, one of the first universities ever established.
East Anglia Plumbers
East Anglia, with its beautiful churches and monuments is home to famous towns and attractions. Bedfordshire is an important county to the north of London. Further to the south and east Cambridgeshire is a quiet and beautiful county with a rural character. Famous for the wet fens, the county is also the base for Cambridge university, famous for its healthy rivalry with Oxford. Norfolk is also famous for its very old (and reliable) canal systems. These canals were the source of prosperous trading routes to Norwich which, centuries ago, was the heartlands of England's wealth. Majority of this wealth came from wool which was also responsible for wealthy enterprises and individuals in Suffolk.
South West England and Wales Plumbers
Dominating the West of the UK, Wales is no longer the coal mining centre it used to be but has rather evolved into a modern place. Avon is a small county with two main localities. Bristol is a beautiful port city with a reputable industrial heritage. By contrast, Bath is an 18th century gem with beautiful Georgian architecture. Further to the south, Devon is a coastal area dominated by the cathedral town of Exeter with its famous university. At the edge of the mainland, Cornwall has stunning coastlines, with some of the best surfing beaches in Europe.
Plumbers in Dorset are mainly located around Bournemouth which is no longer a retirement community but is now a university town with lively night clubs and live music venues. Located in the world famous Cotswolds, Gloucestershire is in the centre of the island with beautiful Cotswolds villages and rolling hills. By contrast, more rural Somerset has less in the way of local urban centres, and less plumbing and heating coverage. In Wiltshire plumbing coverage is better in the smaller towns where some plumbers reside and offer services to the local community.
Eastern Midlands Plumbing and Heating
The county of Derbyshire is lightly served by our network of local plumbers. Residents will do better in Leicestershire, which a better coverage of plumbing and heating services. Surprisingly Lincolnshire is well served, but the coverage is patchy with a bias towards the more affluent south-west of the large county. Northamptonshire is covered through local engineers in the main towns in the county. Further to the north, Nottinghamshire has a number of reliable plumbers with many years of experience.
Western Midlands Plumbers
Just inside the border with Wales, Herefordshire is a rural heaven with lush forests, farms and great restaurants. In Shropshire, the plumbing and heating coverage is patchy with strength in areas like Ludlow but weakness in Telford. In the neighbouring county of Staffordshire there is strong coverage in Stafford and Stoke on Trent.
Warwickshire is well covered by our engineers, including the famous Stratford Upon Avon (Shakespeare.s birthplace). At the other end of the scale the West Midlands have a large number of plumbing and heating engineers with particular strength in Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton. To the south the large county of Worcestershire has a number of engineers with Malvern and Worcester also performing well.
North West England Plumbers
With many affluent residents, the county of Cheshire is like a north-western version of surrey with well tended towns and villages and many large homes. Across the Mersey in Liverpool and indeed throughout the Merseyside area we have a number of excellent engineers all over the county. The centre of the north-west is Manchester which has a very reliable team of plumbing and heating engineers. Elsewhere in Lancashire there are other well respected plumbers in local towns such as Bolton.
North East England and Yorkshire Plumbers
In North Yorkshire the coverage of plumbers is very light. Over in South Yorkshire the key town is Sheffield with its student friendly mentality. West Yorkshire makes a strong showing with major towns well covered by plumbers, particularly with great strength in Leeds. Moreover, Tyne and Wear is strong with some very reliable plumbers in Sunderland and Newcastle Upon Tyne.
